Mood Swing
This started as a vintage Heathkit RLC Bridge, which is a sentence that usually ends with someone explaining what it does. I didn’t know, so I didn’t ask. I treated it like a mysterious box that clearly wanted a second career.
I painted it, tagged it, wrote on it, imagined the knobs as fictional controls. Mood up. Mood sideways. Mood inexplicably stuck between “fine” and “why are we talking.” One side says DEPENDS ON THE DAY, which feels like the most accurate calibration marking I could give it.
MOOD SWING is what happens when a serious-looking machine gets reassigned to emotional labor. It doesn’t solve anything. It just gives your feelings a control panel and lets you pretend that might help.
