Everything is Going to Be Fine
Acrylic, ink pen, colored pencil, and metallic graffiti markers on a handmade custom wood panel.
This one didn’t start out optimistic. I was trying to paint a dismembered astronaut, drifting and clearly not fine at all. It wasn’t working. I got annoyed, grabbed a marker, and wrote EVERYTHING IS GOING TO BE FINE right across it without thinking.
I thought I might've ruined it.
The next day it sunk in a little more. The floating, broken-up spaceman and the forced reassurance felt honest together. The wires holding him together, the calm declaration, the pink grid underneath it all—it stopped being a fix and started being the piece.
Sometimes the message shows up after the frustration. Everything is subconscious.
